Stage 3 Restrictions are now in force at Yarrambat Park Golf Course

Please note  The following changes to our previous update on 10th July 2020:

  • Golf cart exemption

Golf Australia have advocated for a motorised cart exemption for people over the age of 65, or people with special needs.

    • A doctor's certificate will be required to be added to our permitted users register

  • Face masks must be worn at all times

You are required to wear a face mask every time you leave your house. 😷 Please wear your mask in our clubhouse, and remove it during play if breathing starts to feel difficult. Maintain your social distancing at all times.

    Golf Australia update (22/07/20):

    • All golfers must wear a face covering or face mask when playing golf in Metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire, unless they are affected by a relevant medical condition such as breathing difficulties (e.g. Asthma), a serious skin condition on the face, a disability or a mental health condition.

    • Players will be asked to leave the facility immediately if they are not wearing a face covering, unless they are affected by a relevant medical condition.

    • It is recommended that clubs/facilities seek a medical certificate or other proof of exemption for players who state they have a valid reason not to wear a face covering.
      • For the avoidance of doubt, DHHS have published the following:
When an individual is doing any exercise or physical activity where they are out of breath or puffing (e.g. jogging or running, but not walking), you must have a face covering on you and wear it when you finish exercising.

FAQ - Stage 3 Restrictions Expand all

What services remain available at Yarrambat Park Golf Course?

  • ✅ golf on course with 2-ball groups only

  • ✅ takeaway food and beverage only

  • ✅ 1-on-1 coaching available

  • ❌ no equipment hire until further notice (i.e. carts, club hire and pull buggies)

  • ❌ driving range closed until further notice

  • ❌ practice facilities closed until further notice

  • ❌ mini golf closed until further notice

I can only book 9 holes at the moment, when will 18 hole play become available?

Due to the volume of existing 4-group bookings on our timesheet for the upcoming fortnight, our only solution available is to operate 2 x 9 hole courses and to revert all bookings to nine hole play until further notice.

We have commenced our discussions with competition clubs and committees, with a view to returning to 18 hole play as soon as practicable. Our policy for 18 hole play and turnaround times during this interim period is:

  • No player is permitted to book 2 separate 9 hole tee times on the same day
  • A turnaround time can be secured at check-in on the day of play by members only, and at the complete discretion of our Pro Shop and Management team
    • i.e. Members and the public retain first access to booking a tee-time, up until 2 hours + 10 minutes prior to that particular tee-time. If that tee-time is open and available at the time that our members check-in, then they will be offered the chance to turnaround in that slot for 18 hole play access
  • No 18 hole play is permitted for public players until further notice

How do I comply with the terms and policies and conditions of the COVID Safety Plan at Yarrambat Park Golf Course?

We are confident that our best-practice precautions on course have kept our community as safe as possible since restrictions first commenced in the month of March, 2020. All distancing and hygiene policies enforced to date remain in force, with the following update to conditions from Thursday, 9th July until further notice.

      • If you are a member, your access to the course will be removed entirely for the remainder of the lockdown period

        • No exceptions

      • If you are a casual visitor, your details will be requested and located on the booking sheet, and our team will be instructed to refuse bookings for the remainder of the lockdown period

        • No exceptions

      • Our operational response in terms of increased booking comms, EDM comms, social media comms and on course signage means that no initial warnings will be offered.

    • With all practice facilities closed, there is no longer any reason to arrive at our facility early

      • Rules regarding loitering and socialising remain in force - you have three reasons to be here:

        • Arriving

        • Leaving

    • A warning register will be kept onsite for both members and casuals customers who continue to arrive too early or loiter post-round

      • If you receive three warnings, your access to the course will be suspended for the remainder of the lockdown period

      • Our operational response in terms of increased booking comms, EDM comms, social media comms and on course signage means that no initial warnings will be offered.

  • Failure to maintain 100M social distancing on course

    • Our marshal will be patrolling and controlling this distancing requirement on course

      • Do not hit up on groups

      • Do not group up. WAIT.

  • Help us to promote the overarching principles of Golf Australia

    • Our expectation is that you assist us as best as possible in keeping the community safe.

    • If you are found by Management or our course marshal to be behaving in conflict with one of these overarching principles, and behaving in a way that is unsafe but outside the scope of the express rules above, you will be warned. If we are made ware of any further breaches of this nature, your access to the course will be suspended for the remainder of the lockdown period.

  5. We all have a responsibility to do everything possible to reduce the risk of transmission of the virus and to ensure that we act appropriately during this crisis.

General - If I have or am undergoing a period of self-isolation, what happens to my membership?

If you are showing symptoms or have been recommended by a Health Professional to self isolate, you should be staying at home and minimising contact with others. Please contact the team to discuss your free suspensions options.

We ask that members, guests, and the general public wishing to access our course adhere to the health and travel declaration and practice good personal hygiene. If they feel unwell, they should not come to the club and instead, seek immediate medical attention. Keeping the course safe is a collective effort from everyone.

Message from Golf Australia 22/06/2020

Dear Victorian Golf Clubs and Facilities,

As you are aware, COVID-19 or the Coronavirus as it is more commonly known has created global health concerns regarding the disease and its infection rates.

Golf Australia is writing to provide further assistance and guidance to our clubs and facilities on this important topic.

Updated government announcement 20th June 2020

On Saturday, 20th of June, the Premier announced changes to the previously announced restrictions that were due to be implemented on Monday the 22nd of June. From the 22nd of June clubs/facilities;
  • May only have 20 people per enclosed space, provided the density limit of 1 person per 4 square metres can be met. The previously announced change to 50 people per enclosed space will therefore not occur.
  • May serve alcohol to seated patrons, with no requirement to have a meal in conjunction with the alcohol.
  • May have tables of up to 10 people
  • May conduct clinics for an unlimited number of people providing that all participants are under the age of 18
  • May conduct clinics for up to 20 people in other circumstances
*Please note, local rules for our clubhouse and hospitality areas for the time being will remain stricter than Golf Australia's recommendations. This is until we can be confident that distancing and hygiene standards are being met.

Update - 19/03/2020 11:00am

As the COVID-19 situation evolves at a rapid rate, we continue to closely monitor the situation. This morning Prime Minister Scott Morrison addressed Australia with updated Coronavirus (COVID-19) measures, to further protect Australians. These measures came into effect at 5pm (AEST) today.

The key measure which relates to health, fitness and leisure facilities includes:

‘Settings like gyms, indoor fitness centres and swimming pools are not required to close at this time providing they meet these requirements for social distancing and hand hygiene. Such venues should take actions to ensure regular high standards of environmental cleaning take place.’

In line with this measure, the following measures must be practiced by all who visit our Centre, including our staff:

  • Maintain a distance of 1.5 metres between patrons
  • Keep up high hygiene practices, including using hand hygiene products and suitable waste receptacles need to be available, with frequent cleaning and waste disposal.

The full media statement made by the Prime Minister of Australia may be viewed here.

Click here to see related statements from SportAUS  and Fitness Australia

It’s important to remember that maintaining our physical and mental health is extremely important on an ongoing basis.

Additionally, we’d like to remind you that the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene are being maintained within our facilities. This includes:

  • Updated signage: we’ve updated in-centre signage to include the latest information and hygiene practices as advised by the Australian Government

  • Additional sanitisers and antibacterial products for your use
  • Daily staff meetings, ensuring everyone is up to date with the latest information

Thank you for your support and we will continue to keep you updated with any changes and developments as they occur.
