Weekend Boredom Buster Activity – Get Creative
Dodge the boredom this weekend with a creative, educational activity the kids can let their imagination run free in!
It's time to pull out the your crate of craft essentials or the packet or old crayons hiding in in the cupboard! For this activity you can use any colouring markers, crayons, pencils and textas you have on hand. This activity will involve the kids drawing and decorating the habitat of Anna the Goanna. As a native Australian Tree Goanna, get the kids to think about what native plants and animals might also live in her habitat. You could even spark their imagination by watching a short online video or documentary about Australian native animals like the Goanna.
Inspire greater imagination - after the kids have drawn Anna's habitat, get them to add a spin on their creations and repeat the activity but with the aim of adding their own imaginative twist, whether this includes magical creatures, introduced or extinct species.
